LHS “Return-to-Play” protocol

Naz Bohannon named Youngstown State University MVP

Congratulations to Lorain High graduate Naz Bohannon in being named the Youngstown State University Men’s Basketball Most Valuable Player.  Naz will be entering his senior year next year, and he continues to make the Lorain community proud excelling athletically, but most importantly, academically.

The recipients of this year’s Scholar Athlete Award are Talia Harris and Joseph Vaughn.  This award is presented to the athlete that has the highest GPA while earning a minimum of 4 varsity letters over the course of his/her high school career. Joe Vaughn earned 4 varsity letters as a member of the track team.  During

The recipients of the 2019-20 Ternes Award  are Naya Smith and Savion Noble.  This award is presented to the athlete that is the “unsung hero”.  These athletes have impacted their teams in ways that doesn’t necessarily show up on the stat sheet or in the newspapers. Naya Smith was a member of the basketball team.

Savon Chavis committs to The College of Wooster

Senior football standout Savon Chavis will be continuing his football career at The College of Wooster.  Savon was a 4-year starter and workhorse of the team.  He played running back, linebacker and defensive back, and rarely came off the field.  Savon rushed for 515 yards (5.2 per carry) and 6 TDs.  On defense, he finished

2019-20 Courageous Student Award Winners – Jordan Jackson and Deshanti Gore

The Lorain High Courageous Student Award winners for 2019-20 are Jordan Jackson and Deshanti Gore.  This award goes to an athlete who has overcome great adversity in a positive way. Jordan Jackson was diagnosed with appendicitis and was forced to miss a large portion of his senior season. He did however return and performed admirably,
