Lorain High varsity volleyball lost a hard fought battle with Keystone on Saturday in 5 sets – 25-20, 14-25, 21-25, 26-24, 13-15.  Julissa Williams had 22 kills followed by Brooklyn Ferguson with 12 kills. LCS Scholar-Athlete of the Week – Madelyn Tobicash

This week’s Lorain City Schools Scholar-Athlete of the Week is Longfellow 8th grade volleyball player Madelyn Tobicash.  Madelyn has shown tremendous improvement over the course of the season.  Her serving and effort were much of the reason why Longfellow won a recent match tonight against Roxboro.  Madelyn served 14 points, 5 of which were Aces,

GJW football remains undefeated with win over Heskett

The General Johnnie Wilson 8th grade football team defeated Bedford Heskett yesterday by a score of 20-0. Great effort and unyielding perseverance helped the Titans advance to 5-0.  The toughness of Noah Smith and Luke Wilson anchored the offensive and defensive effort.  Jeremiah Lopez rushed for 72 yards and Davante Roundtree rushed for 54 yards. 

Important message for local youth programs

Lorain City Schools has seen a recent spike in local youth teams/organizations using our athletic fields.  This includes, but is not limited to, the football, soccer, baseball and softball fields behind the stadium.  Lorain City Schools enjoys partnering with local youth organizations in an effort to provide these programs with the opportunity to use fields
