Titans News · Popiel Foundation looking to expand committee

Few people have done more to promote and spotlight the accomplishments of student-athletes from Lorain schools than Jim Popiel.

As a teacher at Admiral King High School for more than 40 years, and as a radio announcer on WEOL and WOBL/WDLW, Jim Popiel (aka Jim Allen) encouraged student–athletes, touted their accomplishments and kept the Lorain County community informed about those students.

The Lorain High Athletic Booster Club, to recognize and honor the contributions of Jim Popiel, established the Jim Popiel Foundation in 2018.   All of the financial contributions to the Foundation are used towards Scholarships and Capital Improvements.

The Jim Popiel Foundation Committee meets monthly.  This group plans for the event while discussing ways in which to improve the foundation.  They also try to figure out creative ways to reach more donors and improve ticket sales to the event.

The committee is currently looking to expand by adding as many as 3 additional committee members.  If interested, please submit the below application form.  You can also just email the answers to the questions that are listed.
