Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · Lorain Junior DaQuise Clinton’s record breaking season comes to a close as he just misses qualifying for the State 400M final

June 1, 2019 – Columbus, Ohio – On a day where torrential rains delayed the State Meet for over three hours, Lorain Junior DaQuise Clinton toed the line in the first heat of the Boys 400M Dash at roughly 10:00 p.m. to run under the lights at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. At the crack of the starter’s gun, Clinton got out well in a stacked first heat which saw 5 of the competitors advance to Saturday’s final. Through 200M Clinton found himself right in the thick of things, however it was not meant to be as he finished in a time of 49.68 to finish 11th overall (out of 18) and missed a finals birth by .22 seconds.  Thanks to the Lorain Titans’ Booster Club, 18 Lorain Track members were able to experience the State Track Meet while they cheered on DaQuise from the stands.

While DaQuise was obviously disappointed to not make the Division I Boys 400M Final, he can be proud of an outstanding Junior Season where he had an incredible five races under 50 seconds, repeatedly broke the School Record and is poised for a great Senior season in 2020!

Some of his highlights on the year include:

49.40 Final (4th Place and School Record)
