The Lake Erie League will be welcoming two new members.  Garfield Heights will rejoin the league effective next winter season, and Shaker Heights will be returning starting in 2020-21 school year.  This will be the last year that Lutheran East will be a member of the LEL.  See below for the history of the Lake Erie League which is one of the oldest leagues in the state of Ohio having formed in 1923.

  • Lutheran East Falcons (2017-2019) – leaving the LEL at the end of 2019
  • Garfield Heights Bulldogs (1968-2007, to Northeast Ohio [Football 1968-86, 1993-2007], Independent 2015-2019) – entering the LEL in the winter of 2019.
  • Shaker Heights Red Raiders (1923-2012, to Northeast Ohio 2012-2015, to Greater Cleveland Conference 2015-2020) – entering the LEL in 2020.
